Over the last couple of days I have had cause to scratch my head had a couple of labels.  The first was found glued inside every shoe box in Payless Shoe Store that had only one shoe in it.



Without holding a single shoe, I really, really, really want to ask the salesperson for a mate.  Does that make me a bad person?

The next label I puzzled over was the one naming a bump of  wool roving I received as part of the Spunky Eclectic fiber club.  Now in reality, I did join the club to expand my horizons and receive some colors and fibers that were out of my normal realm.  That happened this month.   Here's this month's selection called '"Start the Fire" in corriedale wool.  (Nothing odd about corriedale -- nice long staple that should be a pleasure to spin.)  Ah, but the color...

 

That's orange and brown with blotches of red.  Um....  Names suggested for this colorway by family members have included but are not limited to "Roadkill Baby Jaguar" and "Lion Pride has a Successful Giraffe Hunt." 

I will have to try spinning this a bit and see if I like how it turns out.  It may produce a lovely yarn but we don't want to have another "Exploding Clown" incident.


Lastly,  which admittedly is not in the label category, but I'm posting just show off a very cool gift from DD#1 that she found just for me on her trip to Boston.

Yup, a complete Periodic Table of the Elements shower curtain.  How cool is that!!!  So just in case you have a head full of shampoo and suddenly need to know the alkali metals, the halogens or the atomic weight of sodium.  You're covered.  (....while still somehow being uncovered...)
