Life in a Northern Town
I'm feeling a bit-of-the-babble coming on, so please excuse the point free blog entry. (Notice I did not say "pointless".)
Now I know technically spring is nearly here vernal equinox and all. However, practically, it is still warm wooly season here and will be for another good month. We will certainly start having warm days but the background will still be winter. Here is a picture of the morning bus stop. (I love our neighborhood; it's full of kids and friendly adults. And, yes, it was recycling day.)

(Notice handmade knitwear on my kids.)
Now in fairness, I took this picture last Friday and between that time and now it has been 68 and the snow melted. Thusly:

Then it rained; then it was sunny; it sleeted; we had freezing rain, and in the next 24 hours we're supposed to get anywhere between 6 inches to a foot of snow. Kind of a circle of life thing I guess.
So given that is still warm woolly season, I'm still happily knitting socks. (Who am I kidding? I'm always happily knitting socks.
) Here's the latest.

The wool is Fortissima Mexico Country color in Serengeti. It's not the softest wool in the world but it should wear quite well. The colors are really rich too which adds to my happy (and quite honestly, simpleminded) entertainment as the colors change as I knit. Oooo, pretty colors!
